If you count 1907 as the year in which the Mutt and Jeff cartoon began to run on a regular basis - that would place the original publication of this particular strip at about 1952.
My favorite strips back then were Mutt & Jeff, Beetle Bailey and Snufy Smith. Where are they now? Beetle still runs in the paper, but not on this site.
