Mitt claims he’s running for the 100%. I guess he’s running against the guy who was only running for the 53%. So he’s really running against himself.

When the top 400 people can own 18% of the GDP….Something is WRONG!!!!!.Why? Do you deserve the money they have earned by sitting around complaining?

thank you Bruce.shame on you motivemagnus….Romney and others pay IRS income taxes, at the legal IRS rate considering what kind of income and what legal deductions they have. Did you check the high % of income that Romney and others give to charity and church and organizatins doing good for all people?-do you not support private OWNERSHIP? a rich person, especially the ones rich by virtue of personal hard work, and time spent working (not any 8 hour days, surely) and yes, even inheritance…(Kennedy’s, et al)….do you support government seizing private assets from those deemed “too wealthy”???-even God set a more fair rule for His worshippers….no matter the income, one rate for every household….10%. God set the rule for private ownership. God encourages work to earn, to have to pay human government taxes, to support family with shelter, clothing, food, etc. and to have extra funds to give to those neighbors in need.-some are not “rich” because of lack of talent or knowledge, some because of mismanagement of resources, some due to illness or accident, and some do to just plain laziness.None of those situations give anyone the right to take from the “haves” ….and many in power by government positions use tax revenues to benefit themselves more than to truly lift the “poor” up to self-supporting levels.

Here’s what Teddy Roosevelt, a rich man, said:“No man should receive a dollar unless that dollar has been fairly earned. Every dollar received should represent a dollar?s worth of service rendered?not gambling in stocks, but service rendered. The really big fortune, the swollen fortune, by the mere fact of its size, acquires qualities which differentiate it in kind as well as in degree from what is possessed by men of relatively small means. Therefore, I believe in a graduated income tax on big fortunes, and in another tax which is far more easily collected and far more effective, a graduated inheritance tax on big fortunes, properly safeguarded against evasion, and increasing rapidly in amount with the size of the estate.”

motivemagus said, 26 minutes ago@disgustedtaxpayer Shame on YOU for bearing false witness. I said NOTHING about “seizing private assets” or not supporting private ownership. I am a capitalist. I am a management consultant, for God’s sake, working with executives. You have made a false argument (see my notes to Bruce above), based on inaccurate facts, and lies about me.It helps a lot to be born on third base, as Romney was. Abetter Biblical approach would be to take John 12:48 to heart: “When someone has been given much, much will be required in return…..(end quote)-My asking you questions is “bearing false witness”?“do you not support private ownership”…“do you support gov’t seizing private assets…”?(and the subject is IRS INCOME TAXES….payroll taxes have no relation to income taxes.)You said I posted “lies about” you….but all I did was ask Questions of you…relevant questions on your complaining that Romney paid so little IRS tax (see CNN.com article today on his 2011 return…$13.7 mil income, paid $1.94 mil. fed income tax, with an effective rate of 14.1%——based on type of income= investments; capital gains $6.8 mil; taxable interest $3 mil; dividends $3.7 mil; with itemized deductions $4.7 mil; foreign tax credits $102,790 of taxes paid to foreign govt’s)The Romneys gave $4 million to charity in 2011, but chose to only claim $2.25 mil deduction)Motive, your lengthy harangue against the small % of the US wealthy owning “MOST of the wealth of this country”and you said “(they) ought to give it back”….so then I asked the questions about how that might happen…gov’t seizures? governments have done that in other nations..FACT: dividends and capital gains are not taxed at 35%!Romney paid what he owes.

I’m one of those infamous 47%, but the fact that this is still getting face time with the libtards shows it struck a nerve. Maybe ol’ Mitty was more right than you know?

Bruce, you are SO correct. And an inheritance usually has assets that have had all taxes paid….property…money in the bank has had income taxes paid…so the “death tax” is 100% government asset seizure.

One has to feel really sorry for those who inherit more than $3,500,000 (as of 2009). That “death tax” might put them into the Poor House.Estate Tax 2009Quote: This $3,500,000 is the amount you can pass at death without triggering estate tax.

Please note that this conversation has been hijacked. All side issues. The topic at hand here is that a man who would be President has declared almost half the country to be incompetent, irresponsible laggards because they aren’t rich. That ain’t gonna fly. Yo?

Well it was helpful of you to post what you think people like motivemagus think, as it provides insight as to how little you know about how he and other liberals think.-————————————————————I was chomping at the bit to respond to the idiocy posted by Chill-as-night (Number 4 on my list of trolls) since nobody knows what any other is thinking, and no one has even intimated that principle should be taxed over and over, yearly, ad infinitum!(Shall we talk about straw man argumentation?)

One more thing… Three days and dozens of comments, about half from Willard supporters.-NOT ONE says anything good about Willard except that his tax evasions are justified because all taxation is evil or wrong or something like that.-Maybe they could claim that he creates jobs? Oh, wait…
