You’re talking about those “big city” papers. If you live in a small town like Pluggerville, you probably get a weekly paper and the average comes out to 50 cents (or less!) per day.
The towns many Pluggers live in are so small, they don’t need news papers. Rummers are all over town long before they have a chance to make it to print.

Yep, Chicago Tribune goes to a dollar. I don’t buy it anymore, after they dropped Pluggers.
