Mom: Petey, you're really going like that for Halloween? Petey: Yes. Petey: I don't want to dress up as something people will stare at. Petey: And I don't like rubber masks. They smell and I can't see out of them. Dad: I thats what he wants. Mom: And yet he keeps asking to wear his viking helmet to school.

Back in the Dark Ages, when I was a kid, Halloween masks were made of some kind of cheesecloth-like material, stiffened by something that smelled like fish glue. If they got wet, they went limp. Anyone remember those? I liked them anyhow, because their odor reminded me of Halloween.
