Alice: So if you don't give Viola that stuffed gila monster, can I have it? Petey: No. Alice: But all I got for Christmas was a big, ugly fountain that looks like it escaped from Grandma's yard. Petey: You got other stuff. And you asked for that fountain. Alice: I didn't know what I was talking about. I must've been out of my mind! Petey: Oh, good. So now you're sane?

If anyone in this comic becomes sane, I’ll have to stop reading it.

I think it’s because the ugly fountain is only attracting the birds.

Alice, we tried to warn you about wanting that big ugly fountain — but would you listen to us, no. So now you’re just out of luck. Next time you had better listen to us ‘cause we’re all so cool….

Love that Alice thinks the fountain looks like it escaped from Grandma’s yard… little does she know

I believe that when you get something is when you want it least. It’s the journey. The hope that we’ll get it. Once we actually have it, it completely ruins it.

I think long and hard before I ask for something to make sure I really want/need it. Still, some of the best gifts I have ever gotten were things I never thought to ask for, like the fondue set my sister got me. I love that thing!

And this reminded me to e-mail my contractor about the kitchen reno I’m not sure I want. Life imitates art?
