In history it’s recorded that (I think it was Sweden) a huge battle ship was launched, it sailed out into the harbor and keeled over (capsized) and sank.
Same thing happened to the Mary Rose (Henry VIII’s ship) during her first full-scale battle. The gunports were too close to the waterline and down she went. About 15 years ago she was discovered in the Solent (the channel between Portsmouth, UK and the Isle of Wight) and has been raised and preserved in Portsmouth. It’s worth a visit if you get the chance.
I am told that back in the Old Country (one of them, anyway), the belief is that when you die, God and St. Peter are waiting for you at the gates of Heaven standing over a barrel of all the alcohol you’ve ever wasted in your life. They dunk you, and if you drown, you go to Hell.

That “Smash” must have been harder then it first appeared… The whole looks to be above the waterline but it still sank?
Oh wait maybe a piece of the bottle went through the keel…
