Clayton: Dad, can we go see "Avatar"? Adam: What's an avatar? Clayton: It's this cool 3-D movie. Adam: 3-D movie, eh? You know I can see 3-D without going to a movie. Clayton: But have you ever been transported to a strange 3-D world full of fantastically odd beings, jam-packed with weird sights and sounds. Adam: Well, I did see the Grateful Dead in concert in '84.

In 84 I quit the Dead and got a real job. My shrink thinks that with medication, I may recover.

very funny. One of my daughters became quite transfixed by the grateful dead in college. She went on tour with them for a summer. I didnāt like it but she came home and had had enough of it. She still liked the music but not the lifestyle.

Joe āJoeā Joe: āāAvatarā is a very popular movie.ā
You donāt say? I went to a U2 concert in the 1980ās. āAvatarā has grossed 1.02 billion dollars worldwide so far. I went to an REM concert in the 1980ās. I suppose you could say that āAvatarā is popular. I went to a Sisters of Mercy concert in the 1990ās. Still, people who live in caves and donāt have access to TV, newspapers, radio, the Internet, billboards, supermarket displays, or word-of-mouth might never have heard of āAvatarā, so itās good that this has been pointed out. I went to a Paul Simon concert in the 1990ās. We wouldnāt want anybody to miss āAvatarā. I went to a Decemberists concert in the 2000ās.
Iāve never been to a Grateful Dead concert (Iāve been to a Gillian Welch concert in the 2000ās, though), but Iāve seen identifiable Deadheads at OTHER shows, and I keep my distance. I have a low tolerance for patchouli. I wonder if āAvatarāās popularity (itās very popular, after all) extends to people who wear patchouli. I suppose Iāll keep my distance, again, just to be safe. I wonder what concerts Iāll go to in the 2010ās?

Nice, two comics with references to LSD today (Zits as well).
Wonder if this has anything to do with the MAPS conference in California this year? I doubt itā¦But itās great to see people loosening up about psychedelics.
