I’m the only one that feeds my goldfish (I’ve had for many years) - when he sees me he swims around and around whether or not I have food in hand. Doesn’t do that for other people even if they pretend to be feeding him.
I think goldfish do have a memory.
Now I’m not sure what he’d do if I disguised myself like that.

@detour_jones: Mythbusters did a piece on goldfish memory. They actually can be trained to go through a “maze” for food and do seem to remember it.
