Jason: Like my snowman?
Peter: It's not very lifelike.
Jason: What's wrong with it?
Peter: You've got the nose in the wrong place. It looks weird.
Jason: Better?
Peter: Much.
I don’t. The last couple years of the 7-day strip made it clear he was struggling to stay fresh. He’s doing much better work these days. That’s well worth having to wait between strips, and even giving up the continuity stories.
arifvakil: The joke is that in the first panel the snowman looks correct, or more lifelike if you like, to our prespective with the nose centered under the eyes, the snowman slightly facing us. In the third panel the nose is now off to the side of the eyes, much like how the characters are drawn themselves when seeing them from the side (also slightly facing us) rather than the front. Thus the snowman is now more ‘lifelike’ in the world of Peter and Jason.
I’m just happy that we get a new Sunday strip… and Bill didn’t quit completely.
I don’t mind the reruns makes me laugh allover again. This has always been a favorite strip of mine.
I remember one cartoon where there was a series of paintings that Paige had drawn. Each was the same bowl of fruit. The first was very lifelike, and the others were graduallly reduced in detail, so the last was very cartoon-like. Her parents were very impressed by the last one and said “it’s almost a photo!”
Dangit, Kris, I wanted to be the one to mention that strip! It was awesome. (The fact that he’s done it before doesn’t make this one any less funny, of course.)

Bill did warn everyone he had to cut back. I got to ask a different creator about his strip and he answered. I thanked him.

That was a very smart issue. Haven’t seen one in a while outside the classics by Bill.

When was that comic strip? I can’t seem to find it in the archives here.

Yes… the Foxes are all cross-breeds between humans and flounders.

It’s actually a standard comic style, not peculiar to FoxTrot at all.

@TimeTraveler-The Sunday comics are still new. It’s the dailies that are reruns.
