Clayton: Dad, what became of your old computer? Adam: It's getting refurbished, then given to a school. Clayton: Hopefully not MY school. That thing was a dinosaur.
My first computer - built in 1996 - had a 2 Gb hard drive, and probably cost over $1200 new. Now, I have a 2 Gb flash drive on my keyring that cost $19.66 at Wal*Mart. Of course, Clayton’s probably never heard of a “slide rule.” ;-)
Kids need to learn how reading, writing and arithmetic work before giving them computers. I do this stuff for a living, but I think it’s the equivalent of giving a 16yo with a learner’s permit the keys to the Maserati.

4kb of RAM was good enough to go to the moon on, it should be good enough for you!

I use a computer right now, that probably is as old as Clayton is. If something works, don’t fix it.
