Clayton: Let's go see what the mysterious new kid's like.
Katy: Down the street?
Clayton: Yeah. Maybe he's got some cool toys.
Katy: Or a pony!
Clayton: How could he have a pony? That yard is smaller than ours.
Katy: Maybe it's a quarter horse.

If it’s 1/4 horse, what are the other 3/4? ;-)

Thank you, Joe Allen Doty.
I knew (as you do) what quarterhorse meant as a lifetime lover of the racetrack,
I was getting a kick out of people thinking it really meant 1/4 of a horse though.

I can’t believe no one has tied this to the Kentucky state quarter - the one with the horse. The quarter horse.

I thought a quarterhorse was one of those coin-operated guys outside the supermarket. In my dad’s day, they were nickelhorses, but nowadays they’re probably buck-and-a-quarterhorses.
Either way, a quarterhorse simply isn’t an option if you lack quarters for it…
In the old days, cavalry officers would ride thoroughbreds, but quarterhorses were provided for the quarterstaff.
Quarterhorses aren’t in demand for rodeos, because it takes four of them to get one buck.
If you could harness energy into one quarterhorsepower, that would be a very low charge.
Speaking of harnesses, quarterhorses are also more expensive to outfit because (drum roll) you need TWO BITS!
Thank you! I’m here all week. Don’t forget to tip your waitresses, they work hard.

These days, with inflation, it’s a buck and a quarter horse.

LOL fritzoid! Very good.
I hope a quarter horse isn’t the horse’s head from “Godfather”
I’ll give him an offer he cant refuse! (Said with marbles in mouth, mumble, mumble.)

I’ve seen tiny horse breeds, they are the size of a dog. So it could be possible that the new kid has a pony. LOL
