Strange but true!

Ah, something to be happy for: the obnoxious guy is having to do some work, and Gracie, the most annoying cartoon character in history, narrowly edging out Jeremy of “Zits”, is nowhere to be seen. Bad cess to both of them.

I totally disagree with you about Gracie. She’s set up as a role model for little girls, who often need to know that it’s OK to be smart, and have big plans for your future. I enjoy her. I wish there had been a role model like that around when I was a little girl.

BTW, the cartoonists here do answer Emails.

Gracie is self-righteous and smug.

I just don’t see her that way. I guess it depends on our various experiences in life.

if Gracie had that attitude around the girls I grew up with she would be very lonely. Not the being smart and with high goals . the I am superior to you and better than you because I am smarter attitude.

I don’t care if she is supposed to be a role model or not. I consider her annoying because she annoys me every time I see her smug face. I mean, really. Applying to Harvard at age 9 or whatever when she hasn’t even taken her SATs? If she was as smart as she is supposed to be, she would have memorised the Harvard catalogue by now. And, I know it’s supposed to be a joke, but it wasn’t even remotely funny. If you want to read jokes about smart kids, read Foxtrot. Heck, even Rose is Rose’s Pasquale is smart and funny.

I completely agree with margueritem. Gracie isn’t smug.

For a while I have asked why is a lot of people picking on Gracie and now I know why they are just jelous because they wernt as smart at her age and as sufistecated
