FYI food is a messed up word for making it plural. If it is a specific food like German food or French food you would ad an s to the end of food to make it plural i.e. German foods. If food is on its own food is correct as both as singular and plural.

that the person correcting grammar should have all their spelling correct, you said “ad” not “add”
just thought that was ironic, however i don’t put very much punctuation and capitalization,
I know it is his second language and I was trying to help him, and yes I am trying to learn both German and Japanese and post comments on web sights for both and appreciate when people who are native speakers correct My grammar.
