Menudo is made from tripe. So if you like menudo, you like tripe.

How aptly named–the word “tripe” sounds as offal as its basic constituent!

My guess is that the strip showed that the neighbor wouldn’t want the recipe Tia Carmen gave, because the neighbor disliked tripe and onion.

As the others said, menudo and tripe are the same thing, so you would probably like it. Chitterlings are also tripe.

I’m reminded of the man who won’t eat tripe or tongue because the image of its origin is disgusting. He then orders two eggs, over easy.
