The reason why Baldo shouldn’t do anything is that once the boyfriend promises to change she’ll run right back to him and then the boyfriend will punch Baldo’s light out for messing with his “property”.

How do you know she’s a twenty-something? They’ve never said. If she’s eighteen, and he’s sixteen (entirely possible), he’d definitely have a chance.
