Transcript:
Baldo: C'mon, Dad... did you really think you and your kids would agree on everything? Baldo: I say 'yes'... you say 'no'... maybe father and son are just a little bit different! Dad: I guess you're right, Baldo. Baldo: Of course I'm right, Dad. Baldo: Now lets go buy my 1964 Chevrolet Impala Ragtop!

You’re ONLY right about you and your dad having a difference of opinion. Dude, you still have no money.

even with your job , your income is not enough to afford payments if you could get a loan the payments would be over $600 a month

At least, Papi gives Baldo a win so let Baldo find out how much cost the car will be that he dreams very much. All he thinks is just a bogus fantasy! :-/

Teachable moment, Papi. Have Baldo run the numbers, and come up with a plan for how he is going to stay in school and work and make enough money for either a premade ride, or the ‘some assembly required’ beater. And BTW, what is all that cash doing in a cigar box? Should be in a T-bill in the bank, timed to be available when Baldo is ready for college, trade school, or whatever comes after high school. The kid obviously isn’t afraid of hard work, so some drivable $500 beater is plausible, but a rich man’s toy or a major resto project for a first-timer, is not.
