Baldo: I think your ham is done, Tia Carmen. Tia Carmen: No it's not! It needs more time! Dad: Baldo, don't tell Tia Carmen how to cook. Dad: She's been burning hams longer than you've been alive.
I think she knows my gran. Gran’s motto: “cook it ‘til it’s done, then cook it ‘til it’s dry, then cook it ‘till it’s resurrected”. I can’t say I miss Thanksgiving much.

She doesn’t want anyone getting sick from raw pork. ;-)

The key is, when the little ham burns, the big ham’s done.
(Little Gracie Allen reset there. Respect the classics.)

Maybe she wants people to learn how to taste-test for various carbon isotopes?

Baldo’s lucky. To my hubby’s dad, burnt is the only flavor he knows how to cook. Which is why we don’t eat there often.

The outside of the ham will be burnt, but the inside will have a nice smoky taste.

Yikes! Tia Carmen’s ham overbakes and becomes like a charcoal black! She supposes to put the aluminum foil on the top of ham. Oh my goodness! LOLs!
