    I once concluded that “olly…” was a self-perpetuating mis-hearing by someone, somewhen, of “all the other outs in free.” But no one is inclined to give up their own cherished version of the old phrase….

    Wow big brother, this sure does bring back memories of us playing hide-n-go seek in the orchard when we were kids.

    I always thought “olly olly oxen free” was a cut-down form of “All ye, all ye outs in free!”
