For the guys who were arguing about the origins of Alfred E Newman (The MAD magazine mascot), a few days ago; you’re ALL wrong:

Actually, it was from a “Painless dentist” ad from the 1880s; thus the missing tooth! << Nick Meglin , MAD publisher said this on a TV interview I watchedps, he also had a copy of the actual newspaper ad

Well, that added to the outside but he still has a lot of work to do if he wants to add living space.

Haha, it must be a disease, I once met two girls who claimed they had a friend who wrote a poem called “Kodakchrome” only to have Paul Simon steal it and turn it into the hit song!

Shades of the two churches in Europe that claimed to have the head of John the Baptist – obtained by the crusaders raid on Constantanople!

You wouldn’t want to be in that house when the next, unintentional, avalanche happened. I believe in gravity.

The original Alfred E Neuman (For the Romine painless dentistry clinics, a chain of dentist offices in the US, Canada and the British empire, from the 1890s; apparently, MAD had better luck with the kid, than the dentistry business): Hopefully my last post on this ;)
