Yeah, Dale is a crack-up.In fact, he and Burl are a regular Floral and Hardees. Or is it Abie and Cordello…._you_know…….who did that great bit about who’s on First Street?
The Find-It may be a star …. but you don’t need to look for it on Hollywood Boulevard…. and it won’t be inscribed “Burl Penny.”
Pacopuddy… me too.The one I worked with didn’t bother looking puzzled about the humor…she just stared blankly with a vacant smile on her lips, and NOTHING in her eyes.
And if someone actually told her a joke, directly, sometimes after the punchline, she’d blink expectantly, and say something like“um… haha.. er… and then what happened?”
I can still picture her bright red lipstick in that meaningless smile.
It’s easy for Burl. He has three working synapses; one for food, one for survival and one for laughter. His all-time favourite jokes are f**t jokes, preferably with a live demonstration.Wgich leads us always back to Gov. Lepetomane and Alex Karras’ (Mongo) incredibly sustained “high note” that can put most people of male persuasion on the floor with laughter.
Last time I watched live late night TV was before Jonny Carson retired (when choice was limited etc). If I watch any TV after dark it has to be something really funny (like old Cheers, Bewitched or new Simpsons, Family Guy) more to my liking. .I can’t remember knowing anyone without a sense of humor; I think I would have just avoided them.
Anhedonia is the inability to enjoy ones self or understand why everyone else is having a good time. I knew someone that would have a happiness hangover if they enjoyed themselves the day before.
People with high level autism or Asperger’s Syndrome often have difficulty understanding humor. They may function perfectly well otherwise. Although other social skills can also be impaired.

The Penny’s fit right in with Letterman… Suggest they switch to Leno…. Catch “Headlines” for some good laughs…. ! ! !
