Call Dr. about “crabs?” Got ’em from a toilet seat down at the church while at Bible study did ye? Been standing within ten feet of Jerry anytime lately?
So many things make no sense….Not only do their clothes transform, and does the phone turn cordless, but.. Why would Patty call her parents for any sort of information?
And why does his looking at the phone make Burl a genius in Joy’s eyes….
I hate to say it, but, maybe cos I’m so tired, I don’t actually understand the joke in that…Joy tells Patty a number expressed as letters; Burl looks at the phone (Redial? Speed dial?) and corrects it.Is that funny in itself?
Neither gives a prefix, and xyz is 999, so the number showing on the phone would be 800-999123.
Huh?
Penny wise and # foolish?Nah.. not a single wise Penny in the family tree.
(And for all of you non-Americans to whom that made no sense……. on a phone button in the US, # is read “Pound”.
“# 1” is read “number one,” and in technology # is “hash” … but a voicemail recording will say “enter your password and press pound.” )
Think what it is…. if you take the lamp on panel 1 as the vertical axis and spin the camera around 180 degrees…. you see panel 2…. but even with that the end table changes shape…. the cord goes missing and the blouse….. ? ! ?.Need a cup of coffee here…………
So I guess both phones should be corded to show they are on the same line and Patty is calling FROM that number so Burl can see it on the extension that HAS caller ID (some older extensions may not have it). It is still all a little surreal, I agree.
I had 2 land lines to my house back when I had 4 teens in the house (one just for me). I think there are already a few garments made with chips in them for changes, not very practical, tho’. I still have no use for cell phones and prefer Skype when home, but plan to buy disposable cell to use on next trip.
Maybe Patty is having a bad dream, Burl’s shirt seems to change stripes too. And Joy’s earrings are different. Yep thats it: Patty is having a bad dream, asking her Parents for information, sheesh,She shouldn’t have had that cold piece of pizza before bed.
After looking back at this 21 hours (and 6 pints) later….I’m going to believe that panel #3 has Rod Serling saying: “For your edification……”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
NO NO NO This is Julie’s SPOT THE DIFFERENCE puzzle, and the winner who can find the most differences in the panels, wins an all expenses paid, meals, lodging, the works TO CRUSTWOOD FOR A FULL WEEK OF RELAXATION AND FUN!

Both phone numbers are one digit too short, also. So you would dial that number and wait a VERY long time for “the next operator”.

Julie must’ve been distracted while she was drawing this. I agree, it doesn’t make sense.
