I think the shoes may put Reggie off. I mean the purple is a bit much. The flowers are okay. The purple clashes with his eyes. And the music. Please No MORE LAWRENCE WELK.(If you remember that show you are a veteran)(Sing along with Mitch?) I use to think my parents lost their mind. Put me to bed about 7. I heard singing and came out. There they sat hold each other singing along to Mitch Miller. I just walked back to my room and went to bed. I had school in the morning.

I would still like to kwow how you load that stuff. I have a great photo of one of our Troops that was sent to me. He is in full chase of a guy on a football field. It was sent to me and I have it saved to my computer but cant figure out how to get it over here. The previous instructions were difficult to follow.I have tried copy and dragged it over. It appears in the box way over size but nothing happens. It just takes over the whole box. It will not reduce or enlarge. Do I have to change the format in how it is saved? I have it saved as pictures in my system as is. One is a pdf the other is from Facebook I think html so I can retrieve at the drop of a hat but cant get to you guys. I may try it as the avatar.

American Bandstand with Dick Clark. On every week playing Bill Board Top Ten. First show to have some dancers with (OMG at the time) color.Ed Sullivan Show.Soul Train was the alternate to American Bandstand ran about the same time.Midnight Special ran the non mainstream groups that usually were the ones the “straights” did not like. Ed Sullivan ran those like The Doors, Rolling Stones, Beatles of course, Dave Clark 5, Buddy Holly and such. But he had rules. Very strick rules. With Elvis not shots below the chest. Head shots only. Elvis hip swivels were considered too risque for the time. When the Beatles played if you look carefully McCartney has his bass backwards but you could still hear him playing on the TV. The whole thing was lip synced. The crowd was screaming so loud the sound system could not get over it. Not like a concert today with louder than jet engines amps and speakers. That is why so many of those old rockers are deaf now or use ear pieces so they can hear. Now it is done to protect the hearing.

I guess I had it pretty good as a kid. My dad would put up the biggest antenna array on the roof he could fit up there. We maybe got 4 channels on a clear day. Eventually he got one of those new fangled kinds that you could turn the antenna from (GASP) inside THE HOUSE!Then he bought (GASP) a Zenith the SPACE COMMAND.He thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread. Turn the TV on and off by (GASP) remote control never having to leave your seat.My dad may have been the first couch potato BUT you still had to get up to change the channel. We had back then VHF and UHF. VHF was the mainstream ABC, CBS, NBC with local affiliates Channels 2 to 12. UHF was Channel 13 early public TV and above. Way up there if the weather was right and could move the antenna right we could pick up channels from Mexico. Mostly bull fighting all in spanish. It would drift in and out and you could only get it at night when it was allowed to run the transmission wattage up. In radio there was the X. Made famous by ZZ Top. Across the river in Juarez Mexico. At night it would crank up to a million watts. Played all the rock tunes the straights in the US would not allow air time. Commercials were in Spanish. Later came underground FM stations. My next door neighbor had one set up. He would play the songs not permitted to have air time at night. White Rabbit by Jefferson Airplane for one (Drug references). We would keep watch out side for the FCC Radio Transmission Police who would wander the areas in trucks equipment with locators trying to catch them and charge them with illegal transmissions violating FCC rules.

I got a big ol’ hunka yak meat on the stove…..making pot roast.Smells so good!Gotta go check on it.

Too late for tonight’s dinner… but would you like yak pot roast tomorrow?

I’ll be eating it for days… Thanks, Monkey. Some for you, too, of course.I usually eat a lot of chicken…but I was craving red meat. After that I’ll be more ready to eat turkey.

In fact…. who else wants yak pot roast tomorrow? With wonderful, sweet local carrots and tomatoes, loads of onions and garlic, red bell peppers and basil from my garden…. and purple potatoes.

    Mmmmmm.
