Good to hear from you Essex. You have it right for the most part. But Roger has gone step further. He has combined the sobriety test with wine making. That’s right, instead of going around in circles in a tub of grapes; he chooses to walk a straight line (mostly) to get a linear mash as opposed to the blender method. However Doris a traditionalist.
My man Ess…!!!! Happy Thanksgiving!!!! I wuz hopin’ yewd drop in fur the holiday!!! Dakerys on me..!!!!! (well, not ON me, like teh udder nite…. ah nose it wuz a axident SuSun…!!) Ennywaayz… Gud ta seize ya brutha..!!!!
Essex! Why am I always getting here right after you leave? So great to see you!Hope you read this at some point and know I said ‘’Happy thanksgiving! Please do come back!’’
Took me longer than I expected to get back from dinner.Wow! The fridge is crammed… cold steak, ribs… some turkey? Somebody must have brought that…I just want to put this pie away.. I ate so much at Bev’s… that was great, thanks..Then dinner…Can’t even look at more food
Oh Monkey.. I still feel bad about that daiquiri. I’m usually so vigilant about watching for banana peels in the Tiki kitchen. Not like there aren’t hundreds every day! I never knew four ounces of such a thick drink could soak so much fur!
Happy Thanksgiving long week-end to you! It’s good to see you!
BTW, the Sherrif’s Dept. just started a new training progam for Designated Dog Draggers, since Scooter and RustyBoy retired. The first graduates will be “on the job” by New Year’s Eve!
(Some of the students may require more classes…..)
Doris has such a lovely dress on that goes beautifully with her gorgeous grey hair…..I do believe there must be a new colorist. Well, the purple with white rings fabric and the two-tone hair fad were only going to last so long — just more fly-by-night fashion trends biting the dust, only to reappear in five years…
Now I was just thinking he’s getting fresh air and exercise (such as it is) – never thinking he was practicing for a sobriety test. Hmm – what made you think of that?
DUI road side skills training?Recite the alphabet backwards while singing it?Now you really think it would fool an old Trooper like me?Your skills are sadly lacking grasshopper.I have had drunks do all the sobriety tests. Ours in Texas areHGN-Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus involuntary eye movement that gets worse the more alcohol you add. (some medical conditions can do that so I know those questions too)One Leg Stand- Hold one foot off ground about 6 inches and hold it for 30 seconds. (I time you count outloud)Walk and Turn-(demonstrated above) go nine steps in a “straight line” and turn a certain way and come back counting each step.I have heard so many variations of these tests it is amazing.I look for one thing. Weaving badly driven vehicles!!!!!!That starts my processing of a “suspect”.Too fast (not common) Too slow (most common trying not to get noticed but I do)Alphabet not used as often. But do it this way. Anyone can do A-Z. Do C to M. D to P. Now you can see confusion. And PLEASE dont sing it. Number one it sounds terrible and it makes you look more drunk because they have begun to dance to it. TADA.The one thing you do not want to do is finish your drink while I am standing next to your car. Not good JUJU.I love the light up a smoke with one already lit. Saying HI OFFICER with all that Margarita odor on your breath.Blaming it on the dog.Driving down the road on four rims after running over the crubs at the bar blowing out all four tires. Being Randy Travis.(He is a mean drunk when he is wasted)Get a ride folks. Call a cab. Have a designated driver (and make sure he/she does not drink. I have caught several “designated” drivers drunk) I personally have even taken a person home because they asked before attempting to drive. Small town. Cant do it in a big town.
Every man needs a hobby. He just needs to add some more slopes and even some tricky curves. But just starting off I would keep it simple. And he keeps score. Good for him.
They ask you to recite the alphabet backwards and forwards, not to see if you can do it, but to see how you handle everything else.(concentrating on the task at hand makes it even harder to maintain your balance, your normal composure, etc).
oh man, Susan or someone will have to Ring the bar bell at the Tiki and announce you the comment winner of the day because this is just flat out BRILLIANT!!!
I, too have been to Thailand on several occasions. We have friends there (Thai as well as European). I’ve been to Wat Pho and Wat Arun and was very impressed..Have also visited local temples and heard the monks chanting. A Thai friend has the monks come around on his birthday and they say prayers and bless him.
Is there a full on English translation for Bangkok’s official name? It must be hard to print on a bus pass, or passport… unless it turns out to be, simply: “Roger’s doing it again!”
actually I was being facetious, but when I broke it down it was fairly eas…pneu (pneumatics, pneumoniamono (illness, or a single sound unit)ultra (no explanation needed)microscopic (ditto)silico (silicon related?)volcano (aint explaining)coniosis ( pretaining to cone shapes or conscious?)Laid out as I did it above, I can pronounce it. I dont want to know what it means yet. I like the mystery of it. Google is just all to handy. Sometimes a mind just want to speculate on things… like maybe they took some sort of silicon microscope and some pneumatic drills and other equipment to do an ultrasound on a volcano…
anyway, can I just say Krung Thep too please. I was raised in Texas and my toungue just wont work that way…
Essex …. so glad to see you stuck around so much today..of course you _would_pick one of the rare times I’m out of town with less than usual computer access…
But hello again, if you see this…I’m on my way to the Tiki… stop by for a nightcap, if you get the chance… it would be lovely to see you.
I’d never be here on Ballard St, putting glitter in hair, helping out on the night shift at the Tiki, writing campaign songs for Sheriff Monkey Blues…if it hadn’t been for you and the Studie.
Some people might question whether I should say Thank you forthat….LOL! But I’m grateful!
