The question isn’t is the cat alive or dead?The real question is _ is the cat still in the box?_I’ve known cats that would have just left and without observing how would you know?

Oh, and good luck getting the cat in the box in the first place.

Getting a cat INTO a box is pretty easy; just open the flaps and leave it on the floor. Little ‘snoopy nose’ will rather quickly ‘investigate’ it and then just tape the flaps shut.

It’s getting a cat into the carrier on “Vet-Day” that borders on the impossible!
