Silent Night... Holy night... Sublime. Merry Christmas- yeah, yeah! Merry Christmas- yeah, yeah! Ridiculous!
Funny! I didn’t do much shopping either but heard that stupid song on my radio at home – twice!whmill – you are like my husband. He likes silence and I like noise. I don’t like to be left with my own thoughts – boring!
Silence or Silent Night is fine with me.
How about “Christmas in Chicago” by Leon Russell?
truecanadianliberal: Not to mention the composer of White Christmas and Easter Parade.
“hello darkness my old friend, I’ve come to talk with you again.”
Or even better to miss is the dogs barking “Jingle Bells”. However a cell phone commercial kind of ruined that.
Even so, a part of me looks forward to hearing “Santa Baby” by Eartha Kitt.
One of our local TV stations played 10 hours of watching
a log in the fireplace burn during Christmas day..
I switched on and heard Bing Crosby, Johnny Mathis, etc..
sing the old Christmas standards..After I left the room
and came back in some twit,(don’t know if it was Beiber
or Backstreet Boys), was singing some updated version
of Rocking Holiday….I switched channels post haste..
There are a few modern singers who have done nice Christmas music. Sting comes to mind.
