A party is a party. I have Jewish friends who wish me a Merry Christmas, and I’m not at all offended if they wish me a Happy Hannukah. Wishing someone Merry Christmas isn’t insinuating that they have to celebrate it—just acknowledge the good wishes. People don’t get offended if you say “have a good day!”
There have been times when the company I used to work for had thrown Christmas parties and specifically told us that spouses weren’t invited. Those were the lean years when they wanted to hold expenses down.
