You can still find a ‘dark sky’. Took my niece out the other night as she wanted to see ‘Orion’, went about 10- 15 miles north of town and it was amazing!!

We moved to the country, and live 3 miles off of the paved road, 1900 ft on an Ozark mtn. Even here, our neighbors have to have a yard light and when I ask them why they tell me it is to ward off the ‘bad guys.’ I respond that they’re only lighting up the yard so the thieves can steal what is not put away in the locked outbuilding. Needless to say, we don’t get along too well. We turned off our yard light and can see almost as many stars as the amount of America’s debt. We also can see the 2 towns north of us as they glow over the mtn to the north of us.

Best star views I had were four thousand miles at at sea on darkened ship.

check out skyandtelescope.com. They have a weekly guide to the stars for the following 7 days. After a while you will learn to go star hopping like I did. Add one star or constellation at a time and before long you’ll wow your friends and family. We do.
