Why is there no “B” size battery?

That adam’s apple looks much like a company logo which could exemplify his failing condition.

“B” batteries were only made for bicycle headlamps, and those were only sold in Britian. We had similar ones, but they used a larger battery(2 1/2" or so cubed).
