I’m not sure if giving Lucy a nickel will solve this problem.

In Charlie Brown’s defense, it was a rather dumb thing to ask.

Later on the emphasis would shift away from Charlie Brown’s school troubles and that role would be assumed by Peppermint Patty. By that time sight gags become more prominent. I don’t recall ever seeing a flying “D-” bounce off Charlie Brown’s head.

It must’ve taken you several hours to put this ad up on EVERY comic. I sure hope you’re being paid, but after the 20th time it becomes rather annoying!

Poor Charlie Brown. What a horrible day. First he blows the spelling bee and then he hollers at his teacher. I see a visit to the principal’s office in his immediate future.
