Hoe about a Gordie Howe hat trick?

JFri: Ah, yesā¦a goal, an assist and a fight.
According to CBC Sports, Toronto Arenaās Harry Cameron scored the first āHat Trickā in 1917 . (Howe was born in 1928.)
While playing in the WHA, Gordie was penalized in a game for throwing a player off his son, Mark.
Other players hold the record for hat tricks, but it is so-named because of Howeās sheer toughness.

when i think about the fact that he was still in the NHL at my current ageā¦ now THAT is something extra special

Yeah, Gordie was playing in the NHL when Bobby Orr (Boston Bruins) was born in 1948, and he was still playing when Orr retired in 1979.
Howe played in a professional game for six decades (1940s-1990s).
If Cal Ripken is the āIron Manā of baseballā¦
ā¦can we say that Howe was the Iron Man of hockey?
