What makes you think you’re so special that you rate a personal tryout?

    EMET

Catching the ball in the horns would be the same as catching it with the face mask.

Brett Favre once threw a pass so hard, the ball got stuck in the receiver’s mask.

A horn catch would be impressive, but a helmet catch…well, check this out:

The pronunciation thing has always annoyed me. How do you get FaRVe out of FaVRe?

Anyway, the Favre throw was during a practice session and I can’t find a video, but there is a story link:

    Re: The hockey spin move

The NHL rule book actually refers to it as spin-o-rama, and though some players think it is cheating–the puck should always be moving forward–the spin move on a penalty/shootout shot is not illegal.

The NHL ruled if the move can be made on a breakaway, it shoud be allowed on a penalty shot.

@EMET & Offside the NHL modified their rule to make it legal, and i have no problem with that. it was done because they want to keep the entertainment level as high as possible, and it sure is entertaining. i was referring to the minor hockey rules from my officiating career (which may have also been changed since i left the game) which clearly stated that if the puck stopped moving forward the shot was over (for example, if a player over skated the puck and it stopped moving). however, even then, a shot which bounced off the goal post and then the goalie before entering the net was a legal goal; so there has always been wiggle room. and, in all honesty, i don’t think i would have disallowed a goal like that had it ever occurred in one of my games. i once heard protests from a team that an overtime goal had been kicked in by a player who had been knocked over in front of the goal. the shot deflected off his foot, which was higher than his head, as he fell to the ice. i figured there was no way it could have been deliberate, and if it was, it deserved to count simply for the presence of mind and the physical control it showed.

    A again
