The people of Nevada had the chance to vote out Harry Reid. Unfortunately, they would have had to replace him with Sharron Angle. They were kind enough not to subject the US to her. As with presidential elections, if the Republicans ever present a worthwhile candidate, they may win important elections.

Actually, they’ve passed budgets. That’s why the government is still running. This is a right-wing non-issue.

Senators haven’t made a budget for these reasons:1. They can’t get 60 votes.2. No use proposing anything, getting the opposition upset because see #1.3. Republicans continue to obstruct everything.

the House under GOP leadership has passed a budget each year, but the Senate under Democrat leadership has refused. They even refuse to bring the House budgets to a vote. What they pass are “continuing resolutions”…not true Budgets, Rodney!(the Obama budgets were voted down in the Senate by almost unanimous vote counts!)The Law requires many things that the Democrat regime ignores and violates. I agree with Masterskrain’s “IF ONLY”!The Feds are the most unaccountable elected jobholders in the country….while piling onerous burdens by law on all the rest of us voters and taxpayers! I’m disgusted, as ever!

More like Mitch McConnell filibustering his own bill after Harry Reid called his bluff and brought it up for a vote.

Harry is probably the most “Republican” Democrat in the Senate, coming from Nevada, and considering his constituency that keeps him elected. I don’t really understand why they keep picking him as “leader”, but then there was Lieberman, and Pelosi’s “impeachment is off the table” surrender to the right wingers.

Folks are getting bent on the right, because they figure Obama will be telling them to “buzz off” in his second term. Let’s hope so. As he noted, every time he agrees to what the Republicans want, they scream he’s a tyrant, vote against THEIR OWN BILLS, and claim Democrats are “obstructionists”.

Boehner, Cantor, and McConnell have spent all of Obama’s first term being a tumor in the colon of the body politic in America. It is time to get a little moral fiber, and flush them from the system.

We have not had a full budget signed into law since Fiscal Year 1997 (Oct 1996-Sep 1997). We have operated on continuing resolutions and specific spending bills for over 15 years. So this is nothing new. The biggest problem with our Federal budget proces is the President doesn’t have the line-item veto. Then pork can be cut out. But Congress doesn’t want that because that is how they get reelected. If the President could veto single budget lines, Congress could still override with a 2/3 majority vote — just like any other veto. This is the way most states do it. Time to amend the constitution and allow line-item veto on budget bills.
