Who put them in charge? Whoever it was should be pecked to death by ducks.

And you know darn well that they wouldnā€™t volunteer for anything resembling work.

These block party blockheads donā€™t realize that all their neighbors have to do is go out the front door and they are at the party. Although I think most of them will be keeping their doors locked and drapes closed that day.

The real block party happens every day while theyā€™re on their annual trip to Floridaā€¦.No special plates, napkins, food, or invitations necessaryā€¦.

The air seems lighterā€¦ somehow easier to breathe. The sun seemsā€¦ shinierā€¦ even if itā€™s rainingā€¦.The flowers are brighter, and the birds sing prettier tunes.

Everybody comes outside, takes a deep breathā€¦. and smiles at each otherā€¦.

Every evening, a good time is had by all.

On the other handā€¦.tourism in Florida is down that weekā€¦thereā€™s a cloud over Disney Worldā€¦And the alligators are grumpy.

htownā€¦. people are reporting various problems with the siteā€¦apparently thereā€™s an ā€œupgradeā€ going on (which may or may not be for the better.)

It seems to affect different regions at different timesā€¦ but it does (so far) resolve itself eventually.

I cannot concieve of any person who would willingly go up to the Pennys and introduce themselves. There might even be a separate page in the closing documents warning folks about them, sort of a neighborhood disclosure. And I certainly cannot concieve of the Pennys getting out of themselves enough to introduce themselves to anyoneā€”theyā€™re so entitled, you know.

You have to admit that hanging with the Pennys can be good for some laughs. .Plus, they are THE poster kids for the axiom: ā€œNo one is completely useless; they can always be used as a ā€˜bad exampleā€™.ā€

My icons changed too. More upbeat. I was just thinking yesterday that they could use an updating.

I just loaded emails received since I last checked and GC left a message:ā€œThanks for your note. Are you still experiencing this issue? Are you visiting GoComics.com from a PC, a Mac, a tablet, or a mobile device? What browser are you using? Where are you located? There was a brief issue with the site last week that disrupted the normal formatting for a short time. Please clear your cache, exit your browser, and then attempt to visit the site again. You may need to consult your web-browserā€™s help file for instructions on doing this. There is also a helpful website at http://www.wikihow.com/Clear-Your-Browser%27s-Cache on doing this. This will likely correct this problem. I will mark this ticket as solved for the moment, but simply reply if you are still having trouble. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.ā€Bold is MINE; they claim no update, just an ā€œissueā€ ā€“ so your guess is good as mine.

Thereā€™s a reason why people are moving out of your neighborhood.

And whern the party happens, the Pennyā€™s wll sit like two lumps in front of their own house and wait for people to come to them. Which (I hope) wonā€™t happen. They will also eat their own food and not share. (not that anyone wants any)

Dazz, it didnā€™t work, maybe because itā€™s a tinyurlā€¦Iā€™m going to try again cos itā€™s funny, if you can see itā€¦.

You might have to click on it, though.

    Riverhawkā€¦

The premise is that every year Ma pays for a trip to Florida, for herself, Joy and Burl, and sometimes Verl comes alongā€¦. and sometimes Jerry too.

It allows Ma and Burl some zingers, as she often threatens not to take them this year.

Sometimes we see them drive thereā€¦. sometimes they just appear in a motel.

Donā€™t expect to see it at the same time every year, or even for the days to be continuous, cos this is a ā€œgag-a-dayā€ comic, which is only occasionally related to the previous or upcoming strip.

Well, I havenā€™t had any problems, so I can only guess my region is next.

IN THE MEANTIME I must mention, back in the day, when we first moved into our home, in 1978, a lot of our neighbors were in their 60ā€™s to early 80ā€™s. We were in our mid 20ā€™s. Our neighbors WERE LOVELY SENIOR CITIZENS and we would have A COUPLE OF SUMMER BLOCK PARTIES EVERY YEAR, AND A CHRISTMAS TIME PARTY AS WELL rotating houses each year. GOD I MISS THOSE DAYS AND THOSE WONDERFUL, WONDERFUL PEOPLE!
