I can sympathize. I wound up being a history major in college, but high school history was horrible. Our teacher’s idea of “teaching” was to read the textbook aloud and tell us what to underline for the test. In high school. Lucky I got some great history professors in college.
I believe history is a record of human behavior. If we can see how people react we ca not only see what may be coming, but be able to set up structures to prevent tragedies, and channel behavior towards constructive ends.
