Weird perspective in the last panel, the couple look like hobbits.

Everyone shrinks when in the presence of mighty Tarzan!

“Didn’t you notice that I’m about a foot taller than Abool was?”

They just thought Abool was wearing his elevator sandals, like the band KISS used to wear.

That’s an odd statement in the first panel considering he didn’t have a chance to say anything to them until now.

so this is what was going on in this strip in 1964—-a long time ago

Wonder what those two are doing there – nobody really lives in an oasis, it’s ‘common property’ for all to use as needed … Abool probably robbed them, left them to die somewhere else …

I* am guessing that those 2 are the real owners of the treasure, and Abool found out about it from them as he pretended to be a guide?

and those 2 should have said “Abool with bow and arrows”?

Now for their sob story…We were out looking for our trained giraffe when…

so Tarzan is one who killed the grandpa of the toys-r-us giraffe ?

past tense seems to imply, not infer. Infer is what the listeners do.
