Yes and no. In Christianity and Judaism, at least, both parties must give consent. In fact, that giving of consent /is/ the actual marriage. Any priest, rabbi, or whatever is just there to be an official witness and watch out for flim-flam. Unfortunately, that doesn’t mean that consent has never been forced. But it has always been wrong.
