This is the smallest us coin ever minted.
Peter Filatreu cross designed it.
So tiny!
Its like a half inch in diameter!
its yours dojo. My entire collection now belongs to you.
Peter Filatreu Cross wouldn't like your decision, Grampop!
ossiningaling, one of my granddaughters, age nine, schlepped my late mom’s collection of silver dollars from the late 1800’s and early 1900’s across the street to a convenience store and bought a bunch of candy. Suspicious, the clerk called her mom (it’s a small town), who bought the coins back and gave her daughter a little lecture, etc.
When I was in the lower grades in school in the early ’50’s, we lived just outside the NYS Adirondack Park in a tiny hamlet (no, tiny hamlet is not redundant in this case!). There was an older lady down the street from us who had a collection of Indian head pennies she kept on a small plate. Spread out, they covered the plate. I sometimes wonder what became of them.
