Frazz by Jef Mallett for March 26, 2013
Transcript:
Mrs. Olsen: Hmm. I thought I had a test scheduled, but apparently it's art day. Frazz: You do know you burned more time getting everyone to wear smocks than you would have just studying. Caulfield: I was going to make her think it was music day, but not everybody has a kazoo.

Knowing what music and art do for the brain, I find it depressing that Bryson Elementary apparently doesn’t have music or art programs!

Those without kazoos can whistle and clap.

You can blame the ‘No Child Left Behind’ policy. There is no time for anything but the 3 Rs and tests.

In my school district, the art teacher would be rather unhappy if an unscheduled class showed up for art. She (or he) would then inform the class that they were supposed to be at Music (or Library, or PE).

Night…. nobody called actually doing art “slacking.”
But Caulfield WAS slacking…probably spending hours convincing all the kids to wear smocks, to help fool Mrs. Olson into thinking it’s an art day when it isn’t….just so she won’t give the test, and he won’t have to study a little.
Meanwhile, my friend…you’ve been rather quick to jump on people lately…even when they’re joking…. are you feeling OK?
