I see. The elderly are all doddering old fools who are easily duped, right? It’s a sure thing that none of them think for themselves. They are all controlled by gruops like AARP. Oh thats right AARP is in BHO’s corner on this one.
IMHO, I think Obama did not want to repeat the mistake the Clintons made by keeping their healthcare proposal so secret that it was dead by the time it was handed to Congress.
But I think he went too far the other way, and has left Congress too much alone to fashion a bill (he did give make his objectives and priorities known). Congress is dragging the whole thing down, nobody knows what is in which bill and it’s totally off track.
I hope Obama can get it back on track or we fail once again as a country to do the right thing.
fennec, your correct, I am not yet elderly. But I know that one day I will be, God willing. Perhaps I did not give the impression well enough, but what I was going for is the fact that I respect the opinions of the elderly very much, and I believe that older Americans are very capable of recognizing a bad deal on their own, because they have seen the consequences of bad deals from their past expeiences.

fear-mongering does work, especially when lies are told and there are multiple versions of different bills floating around
I think it’s time to begin to finalize one version … maybe it will be harder to get people to believe lies
oh, yeah, doing nothing before the August recess was designed to make sure no final bill ever gets to the floor of either house
