    The Germanic goddess Eostre, Anglo-Saxon goddess of Spring, saved a dying bird by turning it into a healthy hare. It retained its bird-like habit of laying eggs, which were given as gifts.

    That was the best part of Easter when I was in school. We got the week off after Easter Sunday. Now, in my neck of the woods though, it’s called spring break and occurs before Easter.

    Here in Canada, Tim Hortons have decorated their donuts like Easter Eggs using colourful icing around this time of year.
