In reference to comments made on yesterdays strip, here is more: In either Chrome or IE I can use a browser control to enlarge it, shift plus the scroll wheel OR, OR, OR I can use the + or – buttons on the side of my keyboard! I KNOW how to use computers – I was programming IBM 360 PS-44 mainframes with Fortran IV in 1970, I’ve progressed to custom built desk & laptops. Most of the strips on this site I have absolutely no problem reading even w/o my bifocals. I’m just annoyed at how this particular strip is presented when it DID have a zoom option not that long ago. I grew up with this strip, Smokey Stover, Orphan Annie, and lots more that have fallen by the wayside. If this strip is going to be on here it seems the least they could do is present it decently.
But, this strip was in re-re-re-print mode since… many years; I tell you yesterday (after checking ond day) that this strip exists in 1,500 pixels wide if you go back in time (set the Year-Month-Day to some years ago: check by yourself).
At last, this have nothing related to any science / development / anything / skills, only move the mouse curson above the strip and watch if it change.
BTW: UFS have a small number of Li’l Abner stips from the run (1934-1935 and 1944-1945 if my memory is correct).
And: a new paper reprint exists by IDW Publishing (2 volumes published in 2013): six volumes are currently available.I get these information querrying amazon.fr and it also exists in amazon.com.
if you want to read the Li’l Abner UFS run (two runs in fact), go to:
First run (1934-08-13 to 1935-01-31): 2012-05-15 to 2012-10-09, that runs 148 Daily Strips
Second run (1947-12-11 to 1948-05-31):2012-10-10 to 2013-03-06, that runs 147 Daily Strips
That is a total of 295 Daily Strips: if you read this page everyday since early (2013-03-07) last year, you have read all what UFS have copyrights for…
Go and get all teh strips while you still can get them.
To get the 900 pixels wide base strips, simply click inside the strip and right-click to save it to your hard disk. If you want the 1,500 pixels wide strips, right-click-Copy image link (or something like that), paste it and modify 900 using 1500, then save to disk the image.
It’s not my job to make my daily reading experience work, it’s gocomic’s job. I subscribe to Lil Abner to read it daily, not zoomed up to a blurry mess, not chased down elsewhere. This strip is still unreadable and will not zoom.
