Im curious, son.
where do you stand on gun control?
Funny, Marcy asked me the exact same question yesterday.
Id like to discuss the topic with you,Mom, but...
Please don't interrupt me every two seconds correcting my grammar!
"exact same" is redundant.

THey should legalize gun ownership and tax the crap out of it. Gun crime would vanish overnight.

“More importantly, just between you and I, this is very unique.”(Just putting all my favorites into one sentence.)

I don’t think of ‘exact’ and ‘same’ as identical. I could have eggs cooked the same way for breakfast everyday, but it would never be ‘exact.’ It’s not like I can use the same eggs. I mean, ewww.

@msowards “redundancy” happens when the idea is expressed the same way unnecessarily. One of the words can be omitted without altering the meaning of the sentence. Avoiding redundancy in writing results in cleaner expression.

The word that raises my hackles is irregardless. Absolutely hate it since there’s really no such word.

rpmurray: If you are in a well-regulated militia, ownership is legal. Unfortunately, the militia concept took a major hit in the need for more canon fodder in the Civil War and WW-I, and was severely dead by WW-II, being replaced first by conscription and now by mercenaries and “volunteers” who can’t get civilian jobs because of multinational corporate rule. Yeah, I know there are exceptions, but they are a minority – often in more ways than one.

I use the term “exactly the same”. I think that is British English and not redundant.
