I would have told him to quit intimidating me and explain everything in great detail as to what was wrong. Then I would explain that the tax code is so difficult to understand by an ordinary citizen, that mistakes will happen and it’s time to scrap it completely and make it simpler so people don’t have nervous breakdowns trying to figure it out.
