That’s the trouble with music lesson. The kids want to learn to play songs and the adults want them to learn to read music. That’s backwards. When we learn English it was speaking first then learning to read it. That is why I always advocate the Suzuki Method, first play by imitation then learn to read it. Michaels right this time.
That might actually attract some cats. I had to make sure that my mother’s hearing aids (as well as all bud-type earphones) were either securely boxed or otherwise inaccessible to our cats, or they’d cart them off for a good licking – and sometimes a good chewing.
@gmartin997. I don’t know about country music stars now, but studio musicians here in Nashville traditionally use the Nashville number system. They can all understand what they are going for without having to learn to read traditional music. Also, it’s easier to jot down on a napkin or beer coaster if you have an idea for a song but no staff paper or anything.

Michael, that only works if you have a natural aptitude for music!

This was funny and I laughed, but it would only be funny once. It’s not the kind of joke you want to hear over and over.

The brass might put them off a bit though.

There is one thing that’s better than playing by ear or by reading notes..it’s playing by heart!
