This brings back memories. I was a high-school band geek in 1980 and my parents asked me what I’d like for Christmas. I told them I wanted a 6 1/2 AL mouthpiece. A normal teenager would work a part-time job to buy a car. I worked and saved for a Vincent Bach trombone with an F-attachment. It came with a 12 C mouthpiece. My instructor recommended I move up to a 6 1/2 AL.

Yes I did, for Christmas, 1980. It was the only thing I wanted, except for a Trans Am.
