“Change the lock and hide it”??? Perhaps he meant hide the key…

Marg — I was thinking that too!

    Sometimes Julie gets a little…. um…. distracted.

    A “Blow-out sale” on storm windows….

Does that mean the store employees drove around town after a storm and reclaimed all the ones that didn’t stay put in their frames, to sell again?

That’s why they’re so cheap at these sales…they’re so badly made that they fall out….and the store makes a huge profit by selling them over and over.

Don’t think for a minute tht Burl wouldn’t lock Ma out of the storm cellar. Or that she wouldn’t return the favor in jig time. At least she’d come up with a boatload of crocodile tears while he’d just try to splutter his innocence. Just don’t ever be between them and something sharp if the lights go out.

They never use a storm shelter, they always go outside and watch.

My upstairs 5’ tall screen blew off a couple of weeks ago in a storm from the bedroom window. I had a young couple wash windows this week and add screws on that screen (so I don’t have to have a new one). The guy at Ace (who made the new screen) said that happens all the time (so flimsy that frame broke). I like having fresh air across my bed at night. It’s 71 outdoors right now and will stay under 90 even by sunset. Love this season!

IF there were a tornado Ma and Burl would be fighting each other to get to the door first. Not to run to the shelter, but to watch. Does anyone think the picture of Joy on the tv makes her look a lot thinner? She only looked that thin when she was…..oh….never?
