Jimbo: As I gaze upon the glorious moon and stars... I'm reminded of that first "garbage moment" so many years ago... I was entranced by the tranquility...the silence...the beauty. It was then I realized that taking out the trash was not a chore to abhor...it was a gift to behold!

Come, come, now. Jimbo’s just putting a positive spin on a nightly chore. No harm in that. Besides, he might see a comet or meteor whilst gazing into the starry void.

They must have some sweet smelling trash if he can stand there that long. I have to keep mine at arm’s length.

rangerlg: Good point. Smell and it being daily indicates there is too much in there that should be recycled, rather than taken to the landfill to raise our taxes.

@JimboYou’re lucky you HAVE stars under your night-skies…

I take a deep breath, hold it, put the bag in the can, struggle with the lid, take ten steps back, (up wind still holding my breath) and then have my moment. You know two year olds, not quite potty trained, can produce a stench that will make skunks proud.

I used to go out many evening just to watch the sky. I wonder why I stopped, age I guess.

@LlywusNever to late to start again. I often go out just to watch the sunset or at night to see the stars and enjoy the peace and quiet of nature.

Jimbo is a large man – the bag is not! Yes I agree with the recycling comments but I honestly think Jimbo was referring to the nightskys and sounds that most of us don’t “partake of” often enough! It settles your soul.
