They are cats, why don’t they just go up the tree and get them?I know, I know… It wouldn’t be a good story that way.

And I think they like to toy with their food.

I saw one of my neighborhood cat’s picked up for dinner last a red tail hawk picked it up.

My neighbor has squirrel apartment houses. They could move there.

I saw a neighborhood cat stalking a squirrel. I didn’t think it would catch the squirrel but,it sneaked up and bit it on the back of the neck and killed it. Then ran off with it. If I thought it would have caught it ,I would have made some noise. that was very disturbing to watch.

It is never easy to watch an animal kill, no matter how natural it is.

I think that if a cat climbed a tree, most squirrels would jump over it an escape.

I do not think squirrels have good vision though. We have several feeders and squirrels took over until we got a squirrel proof one from Wild Birds Unlimited. It works. We buy only oilers. Also, the squirrels love the peanuts in the shell feeder where they learn to lift the lid and dig down…..they just learned how to do that right away…leave a couple on the little shelf for the jays. Lab next door just ignores them when the practically run over her.
