I use the ATM whenever I can, because the tellers are only open when I’m at work. But I do go to the tellers occasionally, when I need something the ATM can’t do, like get a US money order. And I have to pay them extra fees for that. ;) Figures.
At my bank if you give your money to the tell it takes 2 to 3 business days to post to your account. You give it the the ATM and it posts to your account in 2 to 3 seconds. I asked why this was and they just said that is the way it is set up. I then asked why and got no answer. If my company goes direct deposit I may never go inside again.
The banks are always giving Ziggy a hard time. I remember an early strip when he was in a teller line. The other teller line was moving slowly and his wasn’t. He got to the window 1 minute befor the bank was to close and the teller closed on him. “Next teller please” sighn was put up. The other line had 10 people in it.

Between ATM’s & Direct Deposit, I haven’t seen the inside of my bank in years! ; ))

If my bank started charging for going to a teller, I would be changing banks in a heartbeat. I don’t have an atm card and I won’t get one.
