Lived in a beach town and even for the locals this strip is so true. Love this comic so much, it starts my day off with a smile.

No, Petey doesn’t need to quit. Mom just needs to put some BBQ sauce on it and tell him to go for it. When kids see that no one gives a crap, they lose interest!
